We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year!
Members of Groby Parish Council have left you some festive messages on their Christmas tree this year.
Find this at the Christmas Tree Festival at St Philip and St James Church running from Saturday 6th – Tuesday 8th December.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who came to Groby’s Great Christmas Event on Sunday 30th November. It was lovely to get the community together for some festive celebrations and we enjoyed making the event bigger and better for it’s second year.
We couldn’t have done it without the help of others and our thanks and appreciation go to:
– Groby Ex-Servicemen’s Club
– Groby Library
– Druck
– Groby Village Hall
– Bradgate Rotary Club
– Our brilliant stallholders
– Leicester Road Co-operative Store
– Groby Fish Bar
– All of the fantastic entertainment provided by local performance groups, clubs, Mr Twister and Shona’s Fabulous Faces.
– St John’s Ambulance
– Gray & White Bookshop
– Santa himself!
We are pleased to say that the event raised money for two charities:
Bradgate Rotary Club raised £275 (including gift aid) for Wishes4Kids
Groby Parish Council raised £250 (through stallholder’s fees) for LOROS who also received donations at their stalls at the event.
A Christmas craft competition was organised with the local Primary Schools and it was lovely seeing the creativity and thoughtfulness of the children in Groby.
Our thanks go to all three schools for their help with the competition.
We are delighted to share the amazing pieces created by our three winners and runners up.
