Stallholder Information

We’re delighted to announce that the proceeds from this year’s stallholder fees at Groby’s Great Christmas Event will be donated to LOROS Hospice, a wonderful local charity providing care and support to thousands of people and families across Leicestershire.

We still have a few stalls available – so if you’d like to showcase your crafts, gifts, bakes or festive treats and help raise money for a fantastic cause, now’s the time to get involved!

Groby Parish Council are officially thinking about Christmas!
We are looking for stallholders for this year’s light switch on event which will be on Sunday 30th November, 4:30-7:30pm.

New Play Equipment at Marina Park

Groby Parish Council is delighted to announce that a brand-new piece of play equipment will soon be arriving at Marina Park.
At the public consultation held at the VE Day event in May, where residents were invited to vote on their preferred piece of equipment to add to the park, the traverse climbing wall received the highest number of votes. We are pleased to confirm that this popular choice is the one that will be installed.

The new climbing wall will be located opposite the junior play area, adding another exciting activity for young people to enjoy. Work on installing the equipment is due to start this month, and we look forward to seeing children making the most of this new addition to the park very soon.

We will announce when the climbing wall has been installed on our website and on our Facebook Page.
We hope that all families in Groby enjoy this new play equipment and are as pleased as us that Marina Park continues to grow as a fun and well-loved space.

Sponsorship Opportunity!

Work on the new sensory garden at Marina Park has begun and is on track for an official opening in early October.
We are hoping to work with local artist Nicola Wood on some beautiful insect-themed murals which would be a gorgeous addition to the garden. Possible subjects include a ladybird, bee, butterfly, dragonfly, caterpillar, frog and robin.
With your support, we can make something really beautiful for the village. We are seeking sponsorship of £300 per mural or contributions towards this.
Sponsors will be publicly recognised on an acknowledgement board within the new garden in Marina Park and would play an important role in enhancing a lasting community asset which brings art and nature together in Groby.
